12/17/2005 Archived Entry: "rockin' around the Christmas tree"
As of last night I have two gifts to buy for my children, one for each, and 6 gifts for various family members. Of course, I have tons o' wrapping to do. I wrapped a gift exchange gift last night and it turns out you can see through the paper. This is a ginormous roll of red and was really all I planned to use. Now, I can still use it, but I won't be putting any of Tabitha's gifts under the tree, that's for sure. I do have one new roll of a different pattern so I think I'll wrap as many of Tabi's gifts as I can in that, and those are the ones I can set out. For Daisy it won't matter, of course, she was even with me when I bought all of her gifts. I miss those days with Tabs :) My mother's gift may or may not get here in time for Christmas, we'll see. I'll have to come up with a creative IOU if it's not here. I knew there was a chance it wouldn't be here when I ordered it, but it was too good to pass up and I'd rather she had it a little late than not at all. I may have more shopping than I think because my dad's box of goodies is set to arrive on Monday and he never did tell me if he ended up buying Daisy's gifts or if he sent me a check. The stuff he was going to get her is kind of heavy so he was considering saving on shipping and telling me what to get. I know he got Tabitha's gifts, but I have to wrap them. Apparently customs can really screw up things that are wrapped so it's best for me to do it, which I don't mind at all. Last night I did all my Christmas cards for a card exchange I'm in. But alas, I haven't sent out a single family card. They're coming along, I'm just being slow this year. Still not panicing about it though, I'm very relaxed this year, which I like.
Today is a things to do day. I need to do my hair in a couple minutes so I'm all done by the time Chris leaves for work. I also have to make enchiladas and a dip for the halau Christmas party tonight and I need to move some toys in the playroom because the window guy is coming to measure that window. In a few weeks, we won't be nearly as cold in here with all new windows in the bedrooms, Yay!
