12/10/2005 Archived Entry: "When it snows, ain't it thrilling?"

Today we went to a local park that every year helicopters in snow for us. Tabitha had a blast playing in the snow area, she even found a little girl to have a snowball fight with her. The highlight would be the sledding though. They set up two runs, one a bit steeper than the other. Altogether, Tabitha went down three times and played in the snow area three times. She thought it great fun to throw snowballs at me, though I made her keep them around my legs so her sister wouldn't get hurt. I threw a couple at Tabs, but my aim stinks and I don't think I hit her once. She tried to make a small snowman, but sadly, the child doesn't really comprehend how to do that. This is an event that Tabitha looks forward to every year, but I must say I think she had the most fun this year. I have a 6 second video of Tabitha going down the small sled run for Windows Media Player if you're interested. It's over 1 mg, but less than 2.

Once we were home, I succumbed to the constant ad and downloaded Google Earth. Tabitha and I easily found our house because of the top of her playhouse and then checked out Disneyland, Zimbabwe, Big Ben, the Statue of Liberty and Hawai'i. She thought it was pretty cool.

We didn't really do much the rest of the afternoon, just waited until Chris came home at which point we fed the kids dinner and then decided he and I wanted Baja Fresh. So we all loaded into the car and went out where the kids acted as hobbits and ate a second dinner. We made a quick stop at the dollar store before coming home and dumping the little ones in their beds. Now it's just Chris and I and a madcap night of Tivo.

Loved the video :) Its adorable to see kids enjoying the snow.. We dont see that as much in Pa. they just don't appreciate it when they get it everyday! If you like google earth you should check out this link.. http://local.live.com/ its pretty cool and you don't have to download it and it has LOTS of birdseye views of houses.
