12/07/2005 Archived Entry: "O Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches"
My poor Christmas trees. Between a toddler and two cats both trees have been knocked over more than once. Hopefully everyone has learned their lesson now and there won't be anymore incidents. I need to get a couple ornaments still. I need a personalized first Christmas for Daisy plus a personlized family ornament. I also want to pick up a Cabbage Patch Kid set at Target and a Cabbage Patch Kid at American Greetings. I think Tabitha wanted another one at Target as well, but I can't remember what that was. I'm sure I'll remember when I see it.
Daisy has caught a cold from one of us so the sickness in this house continues. She actually slept better last night than we expected, so that was nice. Her mood is okay during the day, she's just hating having her nose wiped now. She's so dang strong that when she fights, it's really hard to go against what she wants. She also prevents me from laying her down to change her diaper. First she'll cling to me, then when I finally pry her hands off me, she refuses to lay down. The only part of her body actually touching the changing pad is her bum, she looks like she's doing a crunch of some sort.
When we were pulling out the Christmas decorations on Saturday, Tabitha found a stocking she was given last year. It had been the means of wrapping for a gift and has her name on it. Rather than put it away, I hung it on her door. Then I got the idea to ocassionally leave little gifts in there that I had stashed away for the holidays. So far she's found Barbie in the Nutcracker DVD and an elf outfit for one of her Build-a-Bears. I like this idea and think I'll continue it in the future.
