10/15/2004 Archived Entry: "warm and fuzzy"
My heart is all warm and fuzzy. Tabitha is reading "Beezus and Ramona" by Beverly Cleary right now. I have had this series since I was about her age and could never part with it and now, my own child is reading the same book :) I've been waiting for this day for a long time.
We had a playdate today at a park. It's a coincidence that the park is the same one we're hoping to hook up with a homeschooling group. And to add to the coincidences, a high school friend of mine was there. We actually ran into each other at Target earlier in the year so I knew she lived in the area. While we're talking, the friend and daughter we were having the playdate with came up and it turns out that they know each other too! I so rarely get that "small world" feeling here and there were all these coincidences in a row. Weird.
After dinner I contacted a Girl Scout troop leader and Tabitha finally has a Daisy troop to join! I've been trying to get her in one since the first week of July and now all my work has paid off. Unfortunately they had a meeting today so the next one isn't for two weeks, but I don't care. At least we have a definite date, time, place and leader. The leader was so nice on the phone and I can't wait to meet her in person. She thought it was wonderful that Tabitha is homeschooled and handled the whole vegetarian thing really well. She didn't even do that odd pause most people do when they are trying to think of what to say next. So I have a very good feeling about her and Tabitha is going to have such a great time.
