How cute is this?
"To: Easter Bunny
Hi! In 2003 Thank you for the ¢! I can't wate to see watt you giv to me. Happy Easter!
Love Tabi!"
Tabitha wrote the above note to leave for the Easter Bunny. She wrote in a couple weeks ago and put it in an envelope without showing me. Tonight I read it and my heart just melted. I mean, she thanked the Easter Bunny for last year, for goodness sake :)
We took her to an egg hunt this morning. As per the norm it was over in about 9 seconds. Tabitha isn't the type who grabs all she can. She prefers to choose just the eggs she wants so she only ended up with 8 eggs. She was a bit sad at her total but as soon as we started to open them up she forgot about that and was just thrilled with the various candies inside. All kids got a little something too and Tabitha got a stuffed bunny. It's actually pretty nice and she's pleased with it.
We dyed eggs this afternoon and baked the last of our Easter themed cookies this evening and then I put her to bed a bit early. It seems she might be coming down with another cold. I think we're going to have to break down and get the child checked for allergies. She had a string of colds last year at this time too and it was suggested we get her checked. But we decided against it and then she didn't have any more runny nose type illnesses for the rest of the year. But now I think we'll get her checked.
All the eggs are ready to be filled which I'll do in a few minutes. Chris is going to be late tonight, but I'm going to wait for him to hide the eggs with me. I had been planning to do the hunt outside, but it was so cold, dreary and drizzly today that I'm afraid it will be more of the same tomorrow. So, an inside hunt it is. There's something like 77 eggs to hide. I hope she finds them all, lol. Only 12 are real eggs though.
In addition to hiding eggs and filling Tabitha's basket, the Easter Bunny also wrote her a letter which will be placed in the special carrot and placed outside her door. That way she'll see the carrot first thing, open it and read the letter and it tells her to come wake us up. I don't think she'd hunt for eggs without waking us, but I don't want to take any chances.
Tomorrow will be full and fun! Happy Easter everyone!
