Tabitha never really did develop a full cold. Just a tiny bit of stuffiness, so that's good. Thursday I slept until after 9:00am and then still didn't get out of bed until 10:00. That is unheard of for me! Chris and I had watched "Pirates of the Caribbean" the night before so went to bed kind of late because we played with all the bonus features, but still, I can't believe I slept that late. After I finally got my bum in gear, we headed out to lunch with my MIL since Tabitha wasn't up for it on Wednesday.

After lunch we went to IKEA, per Tabitha's request. She had been wanting to play there so Chris and I did a bit of shopping and I finally got the drapes for Tabitha's bed at a big discount! I was thrilled. We also found Roman shades for the living room, storage chests/ benches for the living room (they will hold all of our lesson stuff) and a rug for Tabitha's book nook. We only bought the drapes and the stuff for that and put everything else on our wish list. Actually, we also bought the finials for the when we get the shades for the living room. Once we got home, I had to work on sewing the drapes into the right sizes. I was not fortunate enough to inherit my mother's phenomenal sewing skill and only sew sporadically, at best. The drapes are a sheer rayon and it would have been better to do a rolled edge with my serger, but as little as I sew, I use the serger even less and I was not in the mood to fiddle with it. Plus, I've never successfully done a rolled edge. Sewing the sheer material wasn't much fun but I'm pleased with the end result. I have plenty of material left over too, so I'll have to figure some use for it.

Once I was done sewing, it was Chris's turn to have some fun by putting up the steel wire rod to hang the drape panels on. All of this went under Tabitha's bed to create a little hide-away for her. I just love how it looks now. I'll share pics soon. Actually, I think I'll just retake pictures of Tabitha's whole room and update that page of her website. Along with the others, of course. I figure if I keep mentioning that I need to update her site, I'll actually do it.

Yesterday, I was feeling the Disney itch, so Tabs and I took Chris to work and then went on to Disneyland. We spent a good 8 hours there which is a long time for us. But Tabitha was in a rides kind of mood and then wanted to watch the parade. By the time we left, we were freezing. We decided to walk to the car instead of the tram because it would be way too cold on the tram with the night air rushing by. Or as Tabitha put it "I don't want to freeze my ass off" Whoops! I know it's wrong, but it's still kind of funny to hear a little kid swear, even if it's just a mild epithet, and I got a little chuckle out of it. Chris found it less amusing than I when I recounted the story to him later. Anyway, we had a great mommy-Tabi day and I half wanted to ask her to go again today but decided against it. As we walked to the store, she ended up asking me to call Chris and ask him to bring us the car so we could go back to Disneyland :) We didn't though. Instead we went home and played Disney World Candyland and Disney Sorry.
