Tabitha has started something new while she plays. Instead of making her toys talk to each other, it's like she's a narrator of a story and her toys are the actors. She used to do voices for each toy and she would move them around and they would have actual dialogue. Now, she uses her regular voice and narrates what's going on. When she first started doing it, she made like she was talking to me and wanted me to listen, but now she does it even when we're not in the same room and she never acknowledges me. It's so fun to listen to, especially when she works math problems into her play, lol

I had a fairly good morning. After Tabitha got up, she woke Chris and sent me back to bed. I read the paper for a while and then got dressed. After 45 minutes, Tabitha let me come out. She enlisted Chris's help and made me a basket full of hearts with cards at the bottom. She is too cute with wanting to surprise me :) The real surprise was when she took the basket and yelled "It's raining hearts!" and dumped it on her head. My dining room floor is now covered in tiny little heart punch outs. But I promised they could stay today and be vacuumed tomorrow.

After my surprise was finished, we gave Tabitha her Valentine basket. She really liked everything inside of it, which was the goal, of course. We then finished getting ready and went to the store and then picked up a dozen donuts to bring home. The rest of the morning was just spent kind of doing whatever, though Chris and I managed to get my broom closet cleaned out. There were things at the bottom of it that came with the house that we had nothing to do with. Now it is empty and I have no fear of things falling on me when I open it. We also got rid or our old vacuum cleaner so we could put the new one (that I bought 7 months ago!) inside the closet.

Tabs and I just finished today's lessons. She has memorized all the doubles facts and now thinks it's funny that just 3 days ago she was ready to give up. After math, we worked on her animal unit. Today's assignment was to write why she would or would not want to be the animal she researched last week. She had chosen a zebra and decided she did want to be a zebra because they have the ability to camouflage themselves. We also did a quick review of what a key is on a map. Tomorrow I think I'm going to have her draw her own map with a key.
