I'm not a Dr. Seuss fan in general. I don't like silliness and all his stories are silly. But the lyrical magic of The Cat in the Hat is just a joy to read aloud. I haven't read it in a very long time, not since my sister was the age my daughter is now. Tabitha read it earlier today, but I read it to her tonight because it is really a story that must be said out loud and not just in one's head. We concluded that neither of us would tell our mothers all that transpired while she was out for the day. It then prompted Tabitha to make up her own poems for my amusement. They didn't make sense, but they rhymed well enough, lol.
